New chairman for BFPSA

Dr Peter Moore, Director of Technology for Kidde Plc, has been appointed the new Chairman of the British Fire Protection Systems Association (BFPSA). Dr Moore is a physical sciences graduate from the University of Surrey where he was also awarded a PhD for his work on the propagation and suppression of gas and dust explosions. He began his career as a scientist in the Research Division of Wilkinson Sword, moving to sister company Graviner as Principal Research Scientist to undertake the research on gas and dust explosions that led to his PhD thesis. He was appointed to his current role at Kidde in 1998, having held several senior positions within the company.
