Landlords Demand Equal Treatment On Fire Regulations

Residential landlords are stepping up their campaign to prevent local authorities from requiring higher fire safety standards than those recently agreed at a national level. The LACORS guidelines - published in conjunction with the Chief Fire Officers' Association and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health - are the first attempt at providing national guidance for the private rental sector. But the Residential Landlords Association (RLA) is concerned that some local authorities will insist on their existing, tougher regulations.
