High Rise Fire Safety

High-rise buildings are springing up as never before, but there are concerns about their safety, materials used, evacuation, and structural resistance to fire and extreme events. An international conference planned for 20-21 May, 2009 will focus on fire and safety in tall buildings, with discussions on security and sustainability. BRE Global is now calling for papers and posters on: evacuation; fire safety engineering; structural response and safety; performance based design; human behaviour; fire detection; fire protection; smoke ventilation; and security.
