Fire system for geo plant

Hochiki Europe has supplied the fire detection system for the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Plant which is currently under construction for Orkuveita Reykjavikur (Reykjavik Energy). The fire detection and alarm system consists of 350 Hochiki ESP (Enhanced System Protocol) analogue addressable sensors, 95 call points and 49 beam detectors - as well as 219 relay controllers. These allow multiple inputs and outputs, helping to maximise functionality and minimise the number of modules. The devices are integrated with 10 two-loop Kentec Electronics' Syncro fire control panels that are interfaced to the plant's high sensitivity smoke detection system.
