Fire resistant glass from Pilkington has been installed to partition gas turbines from their control rooms at Heysham 1 Power Station in Lancashire. The nuclear power station specified the glass for four partition walls, each nine foot wide by five foot high, and composed of two 5 foot x 4.5 foot panes of Pilkington Pyrostop. The glazing, in combination with its surrounding wall, provides a system which offers integrity and insulation for 60 minutes.
