The new Reaction to Fire EN Standards (European Norm) should be in place by the end of 1999, to be ratified into UK regulations by the end of December 2000. Exclusive compliance for testing is required from 1 January 2001. Bill Parlor provides an overview of the proposed new European classification system for construction products.
