Fire safer cigarettes - update on EU standard process

I thought it would be helpful to give an update on where we are in the process of introducing fire safer cigarettes in the UK.rnGood progress continues to be made by the European standards body, CEN, to produce an appropriate safety standard and test methods for fire safety cigarettes (taking account of the existing US safety standard that no more than 25% of compliant cigarettes will achieve a full length burn). CEN is now nearing completion of this work, with a view to delivering the European Union (EU) mandate this autumn.
