£300k fine follows prosecution of shisha bar bosses

THE FORMER owners of a shisha bar in Manchester have been ordered to pay a £300,000 fine, following a 2015 prosecution for repeated flouting of fire safety regulations. In 2013, Wali Yaqub and Tajamul Khan, former owners of Oasis Lounge shisha bar, ignored repeated warnings to rectify fire safety problems within the building.The premises lacked working fire alarms, whilst barrels of diesel, cardboard boxes and bags of rubbish blocked fire escapes.
