WELCOME TO the December 2020/January 2021 issue of F&RM, which focuses on suppression, and has sub themes looking at both sprinkler systems and watermist initiatives. Every time we choose to cover suppression, we attract a lot of interest - it's crystal clear to me, after almost four years in the sector, that such systems are a no brainer for providing extra fire safety protection in various types of buildings. It's fairly obvious that, while the technologies have many ardent supporters, there are lots of questions rightly asked of them, and rigorous, exacting standards to be kept to.
