Cladding remediation pace and delays criticised

DATA MOST recently released by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has revealed that work has yet to begin on 135 buildings clad in aluminium composite material (ACM), while delays in remediation were criticised amid reports of far higher numbers of buildings with issues. Construction News, Belfast Telegraph, Mail Online and Housing Today reported that work was yet to restart on almost a quarter of buildings' by the end of July where work 'had been interrupted' by the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, 81 blocks of 142 undergoing work 'had paused at some point', with 19 'yet to restart' as of the end of July.
