OIL WELL EXPLOSION

On october 24, 1998, at approximately 1351 hours, 911 received a call reporting an explosion on an oil well location south of Bryce-land, Louisiana. At that time, a column of smoke could be seen 20 miles away with flames visible up to two miles. Immediately, 911 dispatched several ambulances, the North Bienville Parish Fire Protection District (NBPFPD), and several sheriff's deputies.
