Last month, we "hit" on our own brothers and sisters for continuing to equip themselves and dress as if they were able to perform effective interior structure firefighting. Today, our minds, experience, and service levels and, therefore, our pursuits of knowledge and training are in areas other than the protection of life from fire and explosion. In reality, we should be equipping ourselves for emergency medical response or lightweight wildfire personnel protection (East Coast: Get rid of the bunker gear and heavy helmets in these wooded areas!) and then be prepared to shift to interior occupied structure fire attack when and if you become aware of that response.
