Although Champion holds high and respects the history and heritage of the fire industry, when we set out to build a set of rescue tools, we decided to ignore the way things were always done and start with a blank sheet of paper. You see, as a tier one supplier to most of the major automobile manufacturers for many years, we knew that new materials, processes, and techniques would be introduced by car manufacturers to improve safety, which in turn would create a new set of challenges when trying to extricate patients from cars. We knew that a new generation of tools would be necessary to overcome these challenges. And we felt deeply committed to keeping an eye on operator and patient safety, especially as more power and more aggressive tools are developed and deployed.
