In August of 2007, three trusted brands joined together to create Sperian Fire - an entirely new division solely dedicated to serving the brotherhood of firefighters and EMS professionals. Take the new NFPA certified Warrior SCBA for example. We recruited teams of experienced professional firefighters from around the county to help us design a new kind of SCBA. The Warrior's ergonomically designed Air Pod~(TM) backpack features a swivel-hinge design. This allows the backpack to move with the firefighter, not against the firefighter. Made of lightweight aluminum, the backpack evenly distributes its weight across the hips and lower back, substantially reducing wearer fatigue. The Warrior's sleek and integrated design has all functional components built in; - first stage regulator, central power source, instrumentation and alarms to eliminate bulky protrusions that can restrict movement or create snag points. Comfortable, reliable and simple to use under the worst conditions, the Warrior represents a major advance in thinking about what an SCBA is and how it should work and it has already been recognized by firefighters for its exceptional comfort and maneuverability.
