More than 12,000 neighbors, friends, and special guests of Pierce Manufacturing attended its 100th Anniversary Open House weekend on July 13th and 14th in Appleton, Wisconsin. The event was part of the company's yearlong celebration of its first 100 years in business that all began in 1913 when father and son, Humphrey and Dudley Pierce, founded Auto Body Works in Appleton, Wisconsin and began by building after-market custom truck and bus bodies for Ford Model T and one-ton truck chassis. From that humble beginning, Pierce Manufacturing has grown to become one of the largest fire apparatus manufacturers in the world.
