The Wyoming (MI) Department of Public Safety-Fire Division has in service two apparatus built by PIERCE. Lieutenant Chris Velzen says that both vehicles provide a quieter cab, a shorter wheelbase, and an independent suspension not found on its predecessors. In addition, the pumper has a large foam system and more storage space. It responds to all fires and major accidents. The aerial ladder truck replaces two 75-foot quints and provides a longer ladder, a larger water tank, a foam system, a 30° vertical nozzle angle, and an additional 35-foot ground ladder. It responds to all fire calls and on mutual aid.
