ON SEPTEMBER 25, 2020, AT 0829 hours, the Ramsey (NJ) Fire Department (RFD) received a request for apparatus at 178 Prospect Street. Dispatch reported "a possible structure fire started in the electrical panel." The residence was a single-family, two-story, wood-frame structure, just 11 houses away from fire department headquarters; the closest hydrant was across the street from the structure. Siding contractors had been working on scene at the A-D corner; a 30-yard dumpster and building materials in the driveway obstructed access to the front of the two-car garage.
