The city of Covington is a rapidly growing suburban area with a commitment to establishing new public facilities that reflect the character of its neighborhood.rnThe design of Station 78 balances fire-station requirements, civic presence and neighborhood scale by incorporating forms that minimize its bulk and by using low-maintenance materials in interesting combination. Public-use areas are oriented prominently to the street, and crew areas to the quiet back side of the site with training functions to the rear apron away from public view.
