This station was a replacement for the previous one located in the remote fishing village of Yscloskey, La. The original station was completely destroyed when it was hit by the storm surge during Hurricane Katrina. The program for this station included a sin-gle apparatus bay, and living and sleeping quarters for three firefighters. The fire station was designed with high-performance, metal breakout panels to help mitigate potential damage from future hurricanes.
