El Centro Fire Station No. 3 & Administration

El Centro Fire Station No. 3 and Administration was planned as a catalyst for a growing community in El Centro, California. The complete masterplan includes Fire Station No. 3, Administration, EOC, Maintenance Building, and a community park with fire service-related children's play equipment. The project has a strong civic presence that is reinforced by the building's ori- entation and use of landscape. The connection is further strengthened by the echoing of the historical vernacular of El Centro, which includes a deep collection of Art-Deco architecture. The design team worked toward a modern interpretation of this style while maintaining efficient space planning important to the fire department.
