PacketLight demonstrates extension over long-haul SONET/DWDM of its metro solution for storage, GbE, SONET transport with Hitachi Telecom (USA) Inc.

PacketLight Networks announced the completion of a series of interoperability tests between its PL-16000, a carrier-class integrated optical transport system for the metro, and Hitachi Telecom's AMN 6100/7100 long-haul DWDM system. The tests demonstrated multi service multiplexing of Fibre Channel, GbE traffic with different types of QoS, and SONET over lOG and 2.5G DWDM long-haul wavelengths with full compliance to SONET and DWDM stringent performance standards.
