Metro-Optix delivers ATM functionality to the optical edge with CityStream

CityStream also delivers significant benefits in a DSL environment, where data applications run over ATM on ADSL lines and are consolidated at a DSL access multiplexer (DSLAM) and then sent to a central location for switching. Current DSLAM connections in the metro are typically ATM DS3s with traffic studies showing actual usage at 20 percent of the DS3s bandwidth (a total of 45 Mbps).
