Ericsson's enhanced GPON solutions deliver lowest TCO

Ericsson announced several enhance ments to its GPON solutions. First, Ericsson is setting a new benchmark in GPON port density for its EDA 1500 platform. The new 16-port GPON OLT board now enables broadband services to more than 14,000 FTTH GPON sub scribers in a single EDA 1500 chassis. This den sity provides significant total-cost-of-ownership savings for operators by reducing central office space, average port costs, and power profile per line. As a result, operators can easily scale their network while maintaining a high quality of-experience for HDTV and 3DTV services.
