If owners were wondering whether the market was becoming more bearish, the signs are that it is. A brief spell of owner confidence suffused the market in mid-Januarv but that has now vanished.The big names are still ordering but business is slowing down. One could speculate that shipyards with swelling orderbooks have been fuelling owners' reluctance to make many offers. Such was the case last week, when the dust started settling. It would be wrong to say nothing happened at all, because the offers that did materialise last week were interesting.
