The demand for heavy-lift capacity is steadily increasing. China's huge appetite for project cargoes, together with many infrastructure projects in the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent, are keeping vessels fully booked and available space tends to be snapped up quickly.rnFurther tightening of supply can be expected in future as 37% (in terms of deadweight capacity) of the current multipurpose fleet is 25 years or older, and will be subject to scrapping sooner rather than later. However, newbuildings to be delivered in the next two or three years will cover only a fraction of the over-aged and disappearing heavy lift and multipurpose fleet.
