Yanmar Diesel, well known for its auxiliary and medium-speed main engines, is benefiting from strong demand from the shipbuilding sector. The Osaka company, founded in 1912, said group operating profits for the full year to the end of March are expected to be slightly lower than for the previous year, at ¥25.8Bn ($258M) on increased sales of ¥578.9Bn.rnAlthough Yanmar was rocked by steadily increasing costs of raw material and energy, it says that strong business in its marine power systems division is helping to offset those factors.
