Dubai World's (DW) $59Bn debt moratorium is unlikely to affect Thailand's planned Southern Land Bridge which would reduce the need for shipping to use Singapore. The assurance comes from Thailand's Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) which has urged DW to expedite its feasibility report (it missed the 30 November deadline).rnThe Southern Land Bridge would link ports on the east and west coasts of peninsular Thailand with specific road and rail infrastructure, accelerating cargo transfer from the Gulf of Thailand to the Andaman Sea/Upper Malacca area.
