Rise of crude oil prices firms bunker prices, $70+levels a possibility

Bunker prices were firmer again last week with crude oil testing new highs. Average bunker prices for May now look set to be as much as $50/tonne above April levels and all major ports this week set new price records for the year.rnPrices below $300/tonne for IF0380 in Singapore seem now to be a distant memory as trading last weel kept prices above $350 and into the $360 range. By Fri day, the grade had jumped again to $378 - up $15 to finish trading. Traders reported a quiet day of demand to end the week but a rise in fuel oil cargo prices of nearly $20 with some tightening of availability.
