The ro-ro fleet is much smaller than the dry bulk, tanker or container fleets and remains a mainly European affair. About 36M trailers were transported globally in 2007, of which 28M were carried between European ports, according to LRF Research.rnThe sector was generally positive throughout the past year, but the rate of growth was already seen to be slowing. In 2007 the Baltic Sea growth in trailer volumes was cut by more than half from 7% per year in the previous year, and figures for 2008 are expected to show further slowing.rnAt the end of October, the fleet of ro-ro ships stood at 1.21M lane metre capacity, which was a mere 4,000 lm more than a year earlier.
