Antwerp doubles Indian presence

Antwerp Port Authority has opened a second Indian branch in Pune, to raise the port's profile among Indian entrepreneurs. Pune is an important economic centre and is near Mumbai where the port has had a presence since 2006. The office was opened by Prince Philippe of Belgium and Antwerp port alderman Marc Van Peel, and will be run by Cuarav Mane. It is estimated that 4M tonnes of freight were carried to and from Antwerp, Europe's second largest port, last year.
