Italy's Grimaldi Group expects to capture significant reefer perishables volumes from container lines on intra-Mediterranean routes as it tightens its ro-ro service network. Shippers of time-sensitive reefer commodities will see much shorter door-to-door times if they shift their transport mode from ocean containers and lift-on lift-off operations to ro-ro solutions with road trailers as units, the company claimed.
