"2013 was a tough year but the repair business is stable and steady and I believe it can be profitable even in high-cost countries like Finland," managing director Vesa Marttinen of the Turku Ship Repair Yard (TRY) has told IHS Maritime. His optimism was based on TRY's past successes, despite many ownership changes. The last, in 2007, saw it acquired by Estonia's BLRT Grupp. "It's good to have a strong industrial owner behind us," noted Marttinen, who added that TRY's new business model was optimised for the repair market.
