SHI Ningbo wins up to 13 MR tankers

China's Samsung Heavy Industries Ningbo has won orders for up to 13 medium-range tankers from Danish owner Maersk Tankers and returning Greek owner Capital Maritime and Trading. The Maersk Tankers order is for nine firm 50,000 dwt product tankers, with delivery scheduled for 2017 and 2018, at a total cost of about USD288 million. The Danish owner looked at yards in South Korea and China before settling on Samsung Ningbo because of its "excellent market price".
