Djibouti powers east Africa logistics

Djibouti, the tiniest state in east Africa strategically located on the Red Sea, is emerging as a key maritime hub driven by rapid regional economic growth, especially in Ethiopia, and by the major expansion of the Suez Canal. With a focus on construction of seaports, railways, airports, and infrastructure projects with USD9 billion foreign direct investment, Djibouti is getting ready to serve 50% of east Africa in the next decade, and an increasing number of ships passing through the Suez Canal.
