BigRoll orders two more module carriers

Dutch heavy lift operator BigRoll Shipping has taken up an option for two additional vessels from China's COSCO Dalian Shipyard. BigRoll Baffin and BigRoll Beaufort, which are due for delivery in mid-2016 and early 2017, will be identical to two vessels that BigRoll already has under construction at the yard, the company told IHS Maritime. Ordered in 2013, BigRoll Barentsz and BigRoll Bering are scheduled for delivery in late 2015 and early 2016. The four 21,000dwt vessels measure 173m by 42m and are being built to BigRoll's MC Class Module Carrier design. They are destined to transport ultra-large modules and other equipment for large offshore projects, notably in remote Arctic regions.
