摘要

Primus is aggressively moving its Telstra resale PSTN customers onto its own DSL network using spectrum sharing on its unbundled local loop lines. A key to this migration is ensuring feature equivalence so the move is transparent for the customer, and similar plans by Optus and iiNet will further erode Telstra's PSTN revenues. Exactly a year ago Primus announced that it had awarded Marconi a contract for its Multiservice Access Nodes (DSLAMs) and said it intended to install these in 300 Telstra exchanges. Primus' general manager, network planning, Roger Nicoll, told the ACE Australian Telecommunications Summit last week that the company now had these operational in 100 exchanges and would increase the number to 180 by the end of September.
