Co-incident with the global announcement of its IPTV middleware, Ericsson Australia has released an IDC-commissioned study identifying IPTV opportunities for service providers In a post NBN environment. When, and if, the dust finally settles on the controversial National Broadband Network, opportunities in the network infrastructure market will be seriously curtailed but, hopefully, that network should open up new opportunities for vendors to supply the hardware, software and expertise needed to deliver new services over that infrastructure.
