Telstra wants regulation of transmission wound back

Telstra has got in early with a claim for the winding back of the regulated domestic transmission capacity service (DTCS) that governs the price of the service on long-haul routes where the ACCC judges Telstra faces insufficient competition from other transmission infrastructure. On 15 June the ACCC commenced a public inquiry and released a discussion paper about making a final access determination for DTCS. It will receive submissions until 29 August and also plans to host an industry forum in Sydney and Melbourne on the morning of 11 August.
