AARNet and Cisco have teamed up to enable AARNet member institutions to interconnect their Cisco Telepresence videoconferencing installations via a Cisco Telepresence Exchange. The new service will expand the portfolio of videoconferencing services provided by AARNet's National Video Conferencing Service (NVCS), and will come online progressively from October 2011. James Sankar, AARNet director, applications and services, said: "This new solution is an exciting expansion to the videoconferencing capabilities supported by AARNet. It will sit alongside our existing high definition video bridging service, providing a launching pad for next generation videoconferencing services."
