NBN-based legal project score $400k Federal funding

The funding was projects designed to use the NBN to improve access to legal assistance services for people living in regional Australia. The first four successful applicants are: North West Community Legal Centre (Devonport) Tasmania; Hobart Community Legal Service; Redfern Legal Centre providing services to Armidale in NSW; Welfare Rights Centre South Australia. They share a total funding of $400,000. The Attorney General's Department will call for second round applications later this year.
