DATAPLAY WON'T

Although Philips says it is "just coincidence", the first showing of SFFO (Small Form Factor Optical system - see the item on the next page) preceded the corporate shutdown of DataPlay in Colorado - just as the company was launching its own miniature disk format. The DataPlay concept was unveiled in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2001. The 32mm double-sided disk is coated with phase change recording material and stores 250MB on each side.
