PortaPAL-D-Part 1: Powerful, Portable Public Address Loudspeaker System

While we have published other public address loudspeaker systems, we felt it was time for something that really used up-to-date ideas. For example, technology has marched ahead with efficient class-D amplifiers, along with the advent of lithium batteries, which are much more energy dense. Our new PortaPAL-D uses the CLASSiC-D Amplifier published in November and December 2013, along with its matching speaker protector from the same months and the DC-DC Converter published in May 2014. With that combination we have a high-power amplifier that can be run from a 12V battery. One year later, we have added the preamplifiers, mixer, tone controls and power supervision necessary for the PortaPAL-D to function properly.
