Two tiny Electronic Compass modules

The GY-271 is the smaller of the two modules, measuring only 14.5 × 13.3 × 3.5mm (without the 5-pin header attached). It's based on the Honeywell HMC5883L 3-axis digital compass (magnetometer] IC, which is no longer being manufactured, but is nevertheless still available in significant quantities. The GY-511 is nearly double the size, measuring 21 × 14.5 × 3.5mm (without the 8-pin header attached]. This module is based on the STMicroelectronics LSM303DLHC 3D accelerometer/3D magnetometer IC, which is somewhat more complex than the HMC5883L.
