The Effect of Filters in Mobile Radio Systems

The simulation results show that under practical operating conditions Bessel filters provide a significantlyrnlower BER and a lower insertion loss than the Chebychev filters currently used in WCDMA mobile radio base stations. The group delay is more important than the amplitude response for WCDMA signals, and a combination of Bessel RF filtersrnand highly linear input amplifiers will result in the best base station performance.
