With a wide-open road, the temptation is to turn up the radio volume, put your foot down, and feel the surge of power as your car accelerates. Today's vehicles are very different from older cars that had carburetors and straightforward wiring harnesses. Fuel injection has addressed emissions and performance issues while several electrical networks link as many as 100 ECUs handling everything from power-seat positioning to gear shifting.
