Pyroshock testing can stretch a DAQ system beyond its capabilities. For example, only a limited number of accelerometer models have the necessary performance to handle the very large shock pulses characteristic of pyroshock testing. Similarly, general-purpose amplifiers and anti-alias filtering may not cope with the fast rise times, large amplitudes, and high-frequency components present in real shock pulses. Instead, more specialized fast slew-rate amplifiers, high sample-rate ADCs, and filters with large dB/octave rejection are needed.
