Chipmaker looks to 5G

Dedicated 5G chips are, of course, not in production as the standard remains in the R&D stage. Nevertheless, at IMS 2016 Qorvo highlighted a variety of chips and capabilities suggesting how cellular technology is evolving. SumitTomar, general manager of Qorvo's Wireless Infrastructure Business Unit, said that with the advent of 5G techniques such as massive MIMO, it's an exciting time for a semiconductor company providing RF solutions.
