ITRE confirms agreement reached in three-way talks

Members ofthe European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) voted unanimously less two abstentions, on 12 July, in favour of the agreement worked out in three-way talks on energy efficiency and energy savings. Claude Turmes (Greens-EFA, Luxembourg) applauded the outcome but warned that without a reform ofthe EU's Emission Trading Scheme (ETS), energy saving and energy transition measures may remain a dead letter.
