Lobby group challenges data behind EU solar anti-dumping decision

In the latest episode of the Chinese solar panel saga, the Alliance for Affordable Solar Energy (AFASE), a lobby group of Chinese and European companies opposed to the anti-dumping measures imposed by the EU on Chinese solar equipment, calls into question the independence and accuracy of the information on which the European Commission had based its decision. According to AFASE's 4 June letter to the Commission, which was published by the leading German photovoltaic magazine Photon, the data provided to the Commission by the Bonn-based market research company Europressedienst "do not constitute independent and accurate information," and "this is of particular importance if the European Commission took Europressedienst data into account towards the proposal of imposing provisional anti-dumping duties".
