Editorial

In September 2007 the International Industrial Relations Association held its 8th European Regional Congress in Manchester, with the broad overarching theme 'the Dynamics of European Employment Relations'. All but one of the articles in this issue are based on papers presented at this conference. Paul Marginson, who convened the stream in which the majority of these appeared, played a major role in the selection of potential contributions for the EJIR and in providing editorial advice to authors. I am most grateful for his assistance in compiling this Congress issue of the journal. Several other papers which could not be revised for publication to meet our deadline are likely to appear in future issues.
